Day Use Terms & Conditions
Purpose
All visitors are required to ensure that they adhere to these Terms & Conditions (T&Cs). Failing to comply with any of the terms and conditions of your visit or any reasonable request by Lake Lyell Recreation Park staff may result in refusal of entry and park bans.
Lake Lyell Recreation Park Pty Ltd reserves the right to change or alter these T&Cs at any time and at our discretion.
Fees, Charges & Payment
Entry to the day use area of the park is as follows:
- $7 per vehicle inclusive of boat
- $2 per motorbike or bike
- $2 per pedestrian
- Buses: $2 per person
Day use fees are to be paid at the main campground office (opposite the boom gate) during office hours, and at the boom gate with gold coins outside of office hours.
Access to the park and use of its amenities including toilets is contingent upon payment of the required day entry fee. Persons found to be evading the fee will be directed to leave the park immediately.
Access
Vehicle and pedestrian access to the day use area is via a boom gate. Once day use fees have been paid, day use visitors will be given single entry via the boom gate.
Day use visitors can access the boat ramp and day use area between the hours of 5:00am and 8:00pm and must vacate the park by 9pm.
Day Use Area
The day use area includes the carpark, boat ramp, pontoon, undercover BBQ area (not the private BBQ area), picnic tables, playground, toilets and foreshore adjacent to these amenities.
Day use visitors are not permitted past the entry to the campgrounds. Exemptions apply for visitors of guests (as per the Main Campground Terms & Conditions).
Visitors are to leave their vehicle in the designated carpark adjacent to the park office. Visitors are not permitted to park their vehicle on park roadside verges.
BBQ Area
Free electric BBQ’s, tables and bench seating are available for use by visitors in the BBQ area located next to the playground and lake foreshore. Please remember to leave the area clean after use including the used BBQ and note that campfires and charcoal/briquette BBQ grills are not permitted within this area for fire safety reasons.
Boat Ramp & Pontoon
The boat ramp is to be accessed following the one-way access signposted in the day use area past the boom gate.
Boats are to be launched and retrieved in a timely manner. Once launched, vehicles and trailers are to be parked in the designated carparking areas or at campsites for our registered guests (refer to ‘Main Campgrounds T&C’s – Parking’ for site boat trailer limits).
The pontoon is to be treated as loading zone for boats and passengers. A mooring ‘Loading Zone’ time limit of ten (10) minutes applies.
Campfires
Campfires, portable fire pits and charcoal/briquette BBQ grills are not permitted for use in the day use area for fire safety reasons.
CCTV
Please be aware that closed circuit surveillance cameras are used within the property.
Children
For their own safety, children must always be accompanied by an adult. All guests under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult such as a parent or guardian.
Drinking Water
Drinking water is available free of charge from the taps at the rear of the amenity’s building adjacent to the playground and boat ramp. This water is for patrons only and must only be used to fill a drinking water container. We cannot fill tanks in vans or mobile homes, as we are on tank water ourselves.
Kiosk
Our kiosk is located at the main campground and has hot food, ice creams, hot and cold drinks and your camping basics in case you forget. We have limited fishing and boating gear for purchase as well as ice, firewood and park merchandise.
Noise
Please keep noise to a minimum. Noise from radios or the like, public address systems, amplifiers and musical instruments must be kept to a level that does not cause nuisance to our campground guests and fellow day visitors.
Lake Lyell Recreation Park staff have sole discretion in determining whether interference or nuisance is taking place and may issue directions to the responsible person as to any remedial action to be taken.
Park Security
Whilst park management will do its best to ensure a safe and secure environment for visitors, it is recommended that you not leave valuable items unattended in your vehicle and in our common areas.
Pets
We are pet-friendly however restricted dog breeds or ‘barkers’ are not permitted. The Companion Animal Act 1998 (NSW) applies. Management reserves the right to deny entry of any pet or request the removal of any pet without explanation. Dogs must always be kept on a lead and under the control of their human. Please remember to pick up after them and dispose of bagged pet waste in the large SUEZ bins provided.
Playground
Children must always be supervised by an adult. Use is at own risk. Children found unaccompanied in the playground or toilet block will be asked to leave. It is for their safety!
Smoking
Please note that smoking is not permitted in our amenities, BBQ area or in areas prohibited by law. Do not dispose of cigarette butts on the ground, in our drains, or in the lake. Please extinguish all cigarette butts and dispose of in rubbish bins provided.
Toilets & Dump Point
The day use area has flushing toilets adjacent to the playground and boat ramp. Please consider others when using these facilities and leave them in a neat and tidy condition. Facilities are cleaned daily and will be closed during cleaning times.
As our facilities are on a septic system, please do not dump effluent from portable toilet canisters into our toilets, sinks and drains. Doing this will ensure that the good bacteria in our septic system remains healthy reducing unpleasant smells and reduce the risk of fellow guests becoming sick through the spread of gastroenteritis.
The nearest dump point is located at the Lithgow Showground, Lot 1 Barton Street, Lithgow NSW 2790.
Vehicle Parking
To ensure visitor safety, all vehicles must use the designated parking areas located within the day use area of the park. Day visitor parking is not permitted in the parking spaces at front of the park office and Park Manager residence.
Vehicles are permitted to park in the check-in bay adjacent to the park office for the purposes of paying the day use fee. An ‘Arrival Zone’ time limit of five (5) minutes applies.
All vehicles must use designated vehicle access routes to, from and through the park and must always observe signs and directions. It is the driver’s responsibility to read and abide by traffic signs within the park.
Vehicles
All vehicles must obey 10km/h max speed limit. Vehicles must not be driven off formed roads.
No trail bikes, quad bikes, dirt bikes, motorised scooters, chainsaws, firearms or weapons permitted at any time.
Wildlife
To protect our native wildlife and the park's bushland, please observe all wildlife from a distance. Never feed, approach, or disturb the parks native wildlife. Keep your dog leashed to prevent harm to not only wildlife but also harm to your pet. Do not pick, collect, or Do not pick, collect, or remove any vegetation or timber. These actions are crucial for the parks ongoing environmental restoration program and your compliance helps avoid significant penalties and potential bans from Lake Lyell Recreation Park.
