Enjoy wide open spaces, beautiful sunsets over the water, and the freedom to set up your camp your way. Unwind around your campfire, watch the stars reflect on the lake, and reconnect with nature. With easy access to the amenities block, BBQ area, and kiosk, these sites combine natural beauty with simple comfort.

Absolute waterfront location – enjoy uninterrupted views and direct lake access from your campsite.
Spacious unpowered sites – perfect for tents, camper trailers, or vans seeking a natural, off-grid stay.
Hot showers available ($1 for 3 minutes – change at the office)
Secure boom gate entry with unique vehicle access code
Portable campfire pit or you can bring your own (firewood available for purchase at kiosk)
BBQ area with electric BBQs, picnic tables, and seating near the foreshore
Rubbish disposal bins and daily-cleaned amenities
Playground nearby – children must be supervised at all times
Pet-friendly campsites (dogs on leads, some breed restrictions apply)
Check-in from 10:30am, check-out by 10:00am (early/late options on request)
Kiosk on site with ice, hot food, drinks, firewood, and camping essentials
CCTV security for peace of mind
Quiet time after 10:00pm for a restful night by the lake
Boat trailer parking at select sites or available near the park office (see staff for details)
Drinking water access from taps at the rear of the amenities block ONLY
Wildlife-friendly park – please observe, don’t feed or disturb native animals
Good To Know
The is no water or sullage to our waterfront unpowered campsites
There is no dump point at Lake Lyell Recreation Park. The nearest dump point is located at the Lithgow Showground
There is no camp kitchen at Lake Lyell Recreation Park. You will need to bring your own portable camping kitchen and sink.
Inverter generator types up to 2KVA and under 65dB are permitted (not after 10.00pm)
Firewood is available at the kiosk — no collection from the park or roadsides
Visitors must park in the designated area and follow our Day Use Terms & Conditions
